EDUCATION

Eden CISD serves as a meeting point and community center for our town. The school offers the foundation for students to become successful and upstanding citizens of tomorrow.

Exceptional and caring teachers create an atmosphere of academic achievement, while a variety of extracurricular programs allow students to volunteer in their community, learn about issues affecting Texas, the United States, and the world, and gain practical skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, and creativity.

For more information, visit the Eden Consolidated Independent School District's website.

Highlights

Academics

  • Eden CISD has small class sizes - which allow for individualized attention and enhanced learning - with student-teacher ratios of 15:1 in elementary and 13:1 in high school.

  • Students maintain high scores on the annual STAAR tests.

  • In 2016 and 2017, Eden High School students had a 75% acceptance rate to university.

  • Eden High School offers Advanced Placement online courses, and seniors take a college and life prep course focused on ACT/SAT tests, college applications, and life skills.

  • Students can earn up to 21 hours of college credit during their high school years through the Dual Credit program with Howard College in San Angelo.

Extracurricular

  • Eden has an excellent small school band. Students start learning an instrument in elementary and then join the band in 7th Grade. The band has between 30 and 40 students each year and scored the highest grade for overall performance and concert piece in 2017.

  • Eden CISD has an active Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) program and sends students to the national conference every year - most recently to the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN from July 2 to July 6, 2017.

  • Other extracurricular activities include student council, National Honor Society, and FFA.

  • Eden sends students to the UIL Academics District and Regional competitions every year.

  • Eden offers a variety of sports for students - football, basketball, tennis, track & field, golf, softball, and cross country. The UIL District golf and cross country competitions are held at Concho Springs Golf Course in Eden.

  • The elementary and high school schools partner with multiple community organizations, including Frontera Health Clinic and local law enforcement, on educational and safety programs.
